Equipment companies who want to provide their teams with additional training developed by the industry leader in coffee education
The Coffee Technicians Program (CTechP) is one of three certificate education programs developed and operated by the Specialty Coffee Association. In collaboration with the Coffee Technicians Guild, SCA recognized the need for an education program to support coffee technicians in the industry. The launch of this new internationally recognized program is designed to meet this need.
There are six modules in the program with Foundation, Intermediate and Professional courses in each module. Learners choose which courses are most appropriate for their educational needs. These modules are Coffee Machines, Hydraulics, Electrical, Water and Preventive Maintenance, Operations Management, and Coffee Preparation. Each course promotes a culture of safety and competency, and learners are assessed through both a written and practical exam. Upon passing these exams, a learner will receive a certificate confirming their successful completion of the courses. Certificate holders will have the ability to demonstrate to current or prospective employers their ongoing professional development, designed by the world’s specialty coffee authority and leading industry experts.
Learners can expect Foundation-level courses to be one-day sessions. These will be dense introductory courses, designed for anyone new to coffee technology. Intermediate- and Professional-level courses will be 2-4 days each.
